Douglass Day In-Person

Douglass Day is an annual program that marks the birth of Frederick Douglass. Each year, thousands of people help create new & freely available resources for learning about Black history. This year, we will help transcribe the papers of Mary Ann Shadd Cary.

Schedule

  • 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM: Presentation by Byron Jones, Professor of Music (Voice), Shenandoah Conservatory
  • Refreshment break
  • 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM: Learn to transcribe with Aimee Gee, Reference & Online Learning Librarian
  • Refreshment break
  • 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Drop in for live broadcast viewing & transcription time
